WOMEN'S TENNIS TO HOST WHITEWATER FRIDAY

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team will have its final dual meet of the fall season as it will host UW-Whitewater Friday at the Simpson Courts.

The Blugolds have won their past three conference dual meets and look to keep the momentum going as they look ahead to the conference tournament. The Blugolds are currently second in the conference with a record of 4-1 and are 5-3 overall in dual meets.

No. 1 singles player Katie Kuzma (Sr.-Buffalo, MN) has won her past three matches and was named WIAC athlete of the week for last week. She has also won her past three doubles matches with partner Laura Geissler (Jr.-Coon Rapids, MN).

Not to be outdone, Kristie Carlson (So.-Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View), at No.2 singles has record of 6-4 this season, and has doubles record of 9-4 overall with Geissler and Molly Hunt (Jr.-Owatonna, MN) as partners.

The singles players for the Blugolds have a combined record of 44-29 this season and the doubles players have a record of 30-16.

The Warhawks come into the match up with a 10-3 record overall and are tied for first in the conference at 4-0. The Blugolds lost to the Warhawks last year by a score of 7-2.

The action gets underway Friday at 3 p.m. at the Simpson Courts.
