WOMEN'S TENNIS REMAINS UNDEFEATED

The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team ran their record to 4-0 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play and 12-0 overall with an 8-1 victory over UW-Oshkosh here today.

Laurie Alonso (Fr.-Austin, MN), Tara Anderson (So.-Litchfield, MN), and Katie Steffes (Fr.-St. Joseph, MN/Apollo) won their matches in straight sets. Jenny Stafford (Jr.-Cross Plains/Middleton) and Becky Hollinger (So.-Jefferson) needed three sets to gain the victory.

All three doubles teams were victorious, with the tandem of Megan Tauer (Sr.-Stillwater, MN) and Stafford winning their match in a tiebreaker 9-8 (7-3).

The Blugolds will travel to River Falls Tuesday in a WIAC meet. The scheduled start time is 3:00 p.m.

#1 - Hover/Alonso (EC) defeated Aschenbrenner/Blanch (O) 8-5.
#2 - Tauer/Stafford (EC) defeated Treu/Young 9-8 (7-3).
#3 - Cadwell/Hollinger (EC) defeated Pouba/Drechsler 8-4.
