WOMEN'S TENNIS BLANKS UW-LA CROSSE

LA CROSSE - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team remained undefeated on the season, defeating UW-La Crosse 9-0 here today at Mitchell Hall Fieldhouse.

Alison Hover (Sr.-St. Cloud, MN/Tech), Laurie Alonso (Fr.-Austin, MN), Tara Anderson (So.-Litchfield, MN), and Katie Steffes (Fr.-St. Joseph, MN/Apollo) won their singles matches in straight sets to lead the team.

Jennifer Stafford (Jr.-Cross Plains/Middleton) and Becky Hollinger (So.-Jefferson) needed three sets to earn their victories. Hollinger stormed back to win after losing the first set 6-1 by winning the final two sets 6-2.

The victory improved the Blugolds record to 3-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and 11-0 overall.

#1 - Hover/Alonso (EC) defeated Mader/Schmelzer (LC) 8-6. #2 - Stafford/Tauer (EC) defeated Palecek/Bryant (LC) 8-3. #3 - Hollinger/Cadwell (EC) defeated White/Dubinski (LC) 8-5.
