WOMEN'S TENNIS DOMINATING IN VICTORY

WHITEWATER - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team lost just one set in six singles matches to cruise to a 9-0 defeat of UW-Whitewater today at the Williams Center.

Winners of nine consecutive conference titles, the Blugolds saw straight-set victories from Alison Hover (Sr.-St. Cloud, MN/Tech), Laurie Alonso (Fr.-Austin, MN), Jenny Stafford (Jr.-Cross Plains/Middleton), Tara Anderson (So.-Litchfield, MN) and Becky Hollinger (So.-Jefferson). Hover, Stafford and Hollinger are returning conference champions from a year ago.

Falling behind 1-0, Katie Steffes (Fr.-St. Joseph, MN/Apollo) stormed back to win the final two sets to defeat Maggie Krueger 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 6 singles position.

The Blugolds will remain in Whitewater where they will compete in the Warhawk Invitational beginning at 9:00 A.M.

#2 - Stafford/Megan Tauer (EC) defeated Stamm/Alioto (WW) 8-5.
#3 - Hollinger/Molly Cadwell (EC) defeated Wilkowski/mary Steimle (WW) 8-4.
