WOMEN'S TENNIS ANNOUNCED AWARD WINNERS

The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team has announced their team award winners following their annual awards banquet.

The Most Valuable Singles Player went to Alison Hover (Sr.-St. Cloud, MN/Tech). Hover went 15-2 during the fall portion of the season in leading the Blugolds to their tenth consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship. During the spring portion of the season Hover went 10-4 to lead Eau Claire to the NCAA Division III Regional.

The Most Valuable Doubles Player award went to both Molly Cadwell (Jr.-Fridley, MN) and Jenny Stafford (Jr.-Cross Plains/Middleton). While teaming with Becky Hollinger in the fall season Cadwell went 13-3 and in the spring season went 4-3 while teaming with Katie Steffes (Fr.-St. Joseph, MN/Apollo). Stafford teamed with Megan Tauer (Sr.-Stillwater, MN) in the fall season to go undefeated at 12-0. In the spring season Stafford moved up to one doubles to play with Hover and went 3-4.

The Most Improved Player Award went to Tauer. She followed up last year's 12-15 campaign with a 17-8 record this year. Tauer also went a combined 16-3 in doubles action this year.

Annie Krueger (Fr.-Reedsburg) received the Team Player Award. Krueger burst on the scene and went 19-9 in singles action while playing mostly in the number six singles slot.

The Player to Watch Award went to both Steffes and Tara Anderson (So.-Litchfield, MN). Steffes went 17-11 in her freshman campaign in singles action while Anderson went 17-9 in singles and a combined 14-6 in doubles action.

The Coaches Award went to Lindsay Lee (So.-Eau Claire/Memorial). Lee went 5-5 in singles and paired with Anderson in going 13-6 in doubles.
