WOMEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO EMORY UNIVERSITY
ATLANTA, Geo. - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team fell to the second-ranked Emory University 7-2 Saturday afternoon at the Woodruff P.E. Center.
With Emory having four of the top 20 singles players in Division III, getting a win was hard to come by. At the number one singles spot Alison Hover (Sr.-St. Cloud, MN/Tech) fell to the top-ranked singles player Mary Ellen Gordon 6-2, 6-1. Jennifer Stafford (Jr.-Cross Plains/Middleton) fell to the 8th ranked player in Jolyn Taylor 6-0, 6-1.
Annie Krueger (Fr.-Reedsburg) put up the toughest fight on the afternoon at six singles losing the first set in tiebreaker and dropping the second set 6-4.
The Blugolds will host the YMCA Tournament this weekend with the start time still to be announced.
