WOMEN'S TENNIS IMPROVES TO 11-0 WITH TWO VICTORIES

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team improved their dual meet record to 11-0 with victories over Campbellsville University and Limestone College.

The Blugolds started the day by blanking Campbellsville 9-0. With Campbellsville forfeiting at five and six singles, Eau Claire lost only five games in singles. Tara Anderson (So.-Litchfield, MN) moved up to number one singles and won 6-0, 6-3.

The number one doubles team of Alison Hover (Sr.-St. Cloud, MN/Tech) and Jenny Stafford (Jr.-Cross Plains/Middleton) was victorious 6-1, 6-1 while Megan Tauer (Sr.-Stillwater, MN) and Molly Cadwell (Jr.-Fridley, MN) won 6-2, 6-2 at two doubles.

Against Limestone Hover and Stafford, number one and two singles respectively, came back from a first set loss to win. Hover lost the first set 6-1 but won the following two sets 6-2 while Stafford lost her first set 6-4 but won the next two 6-4.

Tauer, Katie Steffes (Fr.-St. Joseph, MN/Apollo) and Annie Krueger (Fr.-Reedsburg) each won in singles competition.

The Blugolds will travel to Atlanta, Georgia Saturday to take on the top team in the nation in Emory University.
