HOLFORTY MAKES IT TO SEMIFINALS
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The only member of the UW-Eau Claire wrestling squad to make it to nationals, seventh-seeded and seventh-ranked Josh Holforty (Jr.-Bloomington, MN/Kennedy) took both his matches today in the NCAA Division III Championships and will now advance to the semifinals tomorrow. The first match at the 197-pound weight class was against Rob Kramer of Coe College (IA). Holforty won 4-2 and had to face second-seeded and second-ranked Alec Bonander, who had a bye in Round One. Holforty upset the Luther College (IA) participant 5-2 to make the semifinals. He will face Matthew Miller from Lycoming College (PA), who is seeded and ranked sixth. Miller won 3-1 over No. 10 Joe West from Delaware Valley College and 6-1 over third-seeded and third-ranked Paul Hartt from Lakeland College.
