WRESTLING TO HOST DUAL MEET AGAINST LUTHER COLLEGE

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team will host fifth-ranked Luther College Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the McPhee Physical Education Center for its first home meet of the season.

So far this young season, the Blugolds are 1-3 in dual matches and are 5-12 overall after finishing 10th out of 14 teams this past weekend at the Cobber Open in Moorhead, MN.

Lance Valiquette (Jr.-Auburn, WA) at 165 pounds has the best record of all the Blugolds thus far this season with a 6-2 record. Valiquette has two pins this season including the team's quickest pin of 43 seconds. Dave Vanevenhoven (Sr.-Appleton, WI/Kaukauna), who has a 5-3 record wrestling at 149 and 157 pounds, has the most pins on the team with three.

Joey Miller (So.-Lake Tomahawk, WI/Lakeland Union) at 184 pounds and Nick Hoeft (So.-Merrill, WI) at 285 pounds are each 5-2 this season. Joey Miller was the only Blugold to place at Cobber Open, placing fourth.

The Blugolds lost to Luther College last year by a score of 44-6.

The action gets underway Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the McPhee Physical Education Center.
