WOMEN'S HOCKEY BLANKED BY SUPERIOR
EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team were shut out by UW-Superior 3-0 here tonight at Hobbs Ice Center.
The Yellowjackets jumped out to the lead early with a goal just 3:29 into the game. Superior added two more goals in the second period to give them a three-goal edge.
The Blugolds were outshot 19-14 with goalie Tara Berlute (Jr.-Bloomington, MN/Holy Angels) making 16 saves. Both teams went 0 for 2 in power plays and committed three penalties for six minutes.
The loss drops Eau Claire's record to 2-3-1 while Superior improves to 7-0-1 on the year.
Eau Claire will be in action next when they travel to St. Paul, Minn. to take on the College of St. Catherine. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m.
