WOMEN'S HOCKEY FALLS TO YELLOWJACKETS
EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team allowed three goals in each of the second and third periods en rout to a 6-0 loss to Northern Collegiate Hockey Association rival UW-Superior here tonight at Hobbs Ice Arena.
The Blugolds fall to 2-2-1 on the season and 0-1-0 in NCHA play while the Yellowjackets remain undefeated, improving to 6-0-1 with the victory and 3-0-0 in NCHA action.
Both teams played a tough first period with Eau Claire totaling eight shots to Superior's nine but things took a turn for the worst in the second period. Early in the period the Yellowjackets scored their first goal of the game and scored two more in the period while holding the Blugolds to just four shots to take a 3-0 advantage into the final period.
Superior added three more goals in the third to finish the scoring at 6-0.
The two teams will hook up again tomorrow night with a 7:05 start at Hobbs Ice Arena.
