WOMEN'S HOCKEY FALLS TO ST. MARY'S
EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team fell to St. Mary's University 1-0 here today at Hobbs Ice Center.
St. Mary's scored the lone goal of the game when Emily Kearns scored at the 19:32 mark of the first period.
Sara Steinhoff (So.-West St. Paul/Henry Sibley) played all but 1:04 of the game in goal stopping 21 of 22 shots.
The Blugolds were outshot 22 to 19 and committed one penalty for two minutes compared to two for four minutes. Eau Claire was 0 for 2 in power plays while St. Mary's was o for 1.
Eau Claire drops to 2-1-1 on the year while St. Mary's improves to 1-1-1. The Blugolds will be in action next when they host UW-Superior Friday and Saturday at Hobbs Ice Center. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m.
