SCHULTZ NAMED TO DISTRICT ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
ST. PETER, MN - UW-Eau Claire women's hockey forward Amanda Schultz (So.-Stevens Point/SPASH) was named to the 2004 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District V Women's At-Large Team, it was recently announced by district coordinator Tim Kennedy of Gustavus Adolphus College.
Carrying a 3.97 grade-point average majoring in special education, Schultz lead the team with 16 points and nine goals while finishing second in assists with seven. Schultz recorded one hat trick and one game-winning goal for the Blugolds who recorded a program-best 10 wins this season. A two-time letterwinner, Schultz received honorable mention All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) honors in addition to being named team co-MVP in 2002-03.
Receiving the team student-athlete award the past two seasons, Schultz is a two-time member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Scholastic Honor Roll. Schultz earned NCHA All-Academic Team accolades this past season. Off the ice Schultz is a respite care provider for people with disabilities.
