STEINHOFF NAMED NCHA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

RIVER FALLS - UW-Eau Claire women's hockey goalie Sara Steinhoff (So.-West St. Paul, MN/Henry Sibley) was named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Player of the Week, is was announced today by conference sports information director Jim Thies.

Steinhoff dominated between the pipes in a thrilling 2-0 victory over sixth-seeded and conference leading UW-Stevens Point. The falling to the pointers 9-0 the night before Steinhoff stopped all 24 shots she faced, including a spectacular diving save with one minute remaining in the game to preserve a 1-0 Blugold lead. The rebound went off of Steinhoff to Allison Timberg who sent it the length of the ice for an empty-net goal.
