SOBOTTA & IVES TAKE HOME NGCA HONORS

WATERLOO, Iowa – UW-Eau Claire women’s golfers Meghan Sobotta (Sr.-Arcadia, Wis.) and Torie Ives (So.-Osseo, Wis./Osseo-Fairchild) were recognized Wednesday night at the National Golf Coaches Association’s annual awards banquet.

Sobotta took home the highest honors of the two, being named a first team Duramed FUTURES Tour NGCA Division III All-American. Only eight individuals from around the country received the honor, while six others were named second team and seven others received honorable mention recognition. The previous two seasons Sobotta was honored as a second team All-American selection. She joins only two other Blugolds who have received first team honors in program history.

Ives and Sobotta were also recognized on the All-Central Region team. Only 10 other golfers were selected to the All-Central Region team.

Around the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, UW-Stevens Point’s Jessica Urban was also recognized by the NGCA. She received honors as a second team All-American and joined Ives and Sobotta on the All-Region team.
