WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HEADED TO IOWA

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After receiving an at-large bid to the 2008 NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament last night, the UW-Eau Claire women’s basketball team will take to the road and head to Simpson College (Iowa) for the first and second rounds of the tournament this weekend, NCAA officials announced today.

The Blugolds will take on Carleton College (Minn.) on Friday night at 5 p.m. in the first round of the tournament. The winner of that game will then face the winner of the Simpson College vs. Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) game slated for 7 p.m. Friday night. The second round game will take place Saturday at 7 p.m.

Around the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Stevens Point will host a four-team regional this weekend, while Whitewater will face Manchester at Illinois Wesleyan University.
