WOMEN’S BASKETBALL GETS AT-LARGE BID TO NCAA TOURNEY

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the first time since 2003, the UW-Eau Claire women’s basketball team will participate in the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament.

Although the Blugolds were unable to capture the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament yesterday with a 62-50 loss to Stevens Point in Zorn Arena, they received an at-large bid tonight. Whitewater also received an at-large bid tonight.

While the 63-team field is now set, a complete bracket with sites and locations will be announced Monday morning at 8 a.m.
