WOMEN’S BASKETBALL BREAKS INTO NATIONAL POLL
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Following two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) wins last week, the UW-Eau Claire women’s basketball team is back in one top 25 poll. Last Wednesday the Blugolds defeated Superior 54-21 and also picked up a huge win against UW-Whitewater on Saturday. Coming in to the game Saturday, Whitewater was undefeated and ranked No. 2 in both the D3hoops.com and USA Today/ESPN/WBCA top 25 polls. The Warhawks have since dropped to fourth and sixth, respectively, after this weekend’s loss. Eau Claire is now ranked 25th in this week’s USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Top 25 Poll. They were not able to break into the top 25 in the D3hoops.com poll, although they did receive 35 votes to miss the top 25 by one place. The Blugolds will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to Oshkosh on Wednesday. - KM -
