Robin Baker enters her fifth season at UW-Eau Claire as an assistant softball coach. Baker also serves as the Budget Coordinator/Assistant to the Athletics Director for the university.
At Eau Claire Baker helped guide the Blugolds to back-to-back Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) softball conference championships in 2004 and 2005. Baker has coached one All-American, seven All-Region and 10 first team All-WIAC selections in softball.
Baker came to Eau Claire after spending two years as the head volleyball coach, co-head softball coach, middle school athletics director and high school physical education instructor at Nevada, Iowa.
Her resume also includes nine years as the head softball and eight years as head volleyball coach at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. There she took the Knights to their first-ever post-season appearances in both sports.
A native of Swea City, Iowa, Baker (b. 6/11/67) earned her bachelor's degree in health, physical education and recreation from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She received a master's in athletics administration from St. Cloud State in 1990.
Her career has included stints as a member of NCAA regional ranking committees in both softball and volleyball. She earned Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference coach of the year honors in both softball (1994) and volleyball (1996) and was an Iowa High School Class 2A district coach of the year in volleyball for the 2000 season.
