MEN'S TRACK AIMS FOR QUALIFICATIONS AT LAST CHANCE MEET

LA CROSSE - The UW-Eau Claire men's track team competed at UW-La Crosse's Last Chance Meet, where there were no team scores, as members tried to qualify for nationals.

No Eau Claire competitors claimed an NCAA automatic or provisional qualification, but there were a few top 10 performances.

Micah Hernandez (Sr.-Milwaukee/Wisconsin Lutheran) was the fourth-place finisher in the 3000-meter steeplechase on a 9:28.82 time. Tony Carr (Fr.-Menomonie) placed fifth in the 5000-meter run at 16:54.38. Nick Aliota (Jr.-Brookfield/Central) took ninth with a 15.35 110-meter hurdle performance. Al Oleson (Jr.-Wausau/West) and his shot put of 14.70 meters (48'23/4") claimed 10th.

The next and final last chance for the team is tomorrow in Rock Island, IL. After that are the NCAA Outdoor Championships May 25-May 27.
