MEN'S TRACK PLACES FOURTH AT POINTER INVITE
STEVENS POINT - The UW-Eau Claire men's track and field team took fourth place among six teams in today's Pointer Invite held here at the Multi-Activity Center in the Health Enhancement Center.
In the 1500-meter run, Adam Condit (So.-La Crosse/Central) took home the first Blugold finish among the top three. Condit finished the race in 4:00.89, five hundredths of a second behind the winner, to take second place.
John Schuna (So.-Hudson) finished behind only Jeremiah Rolfs of Stevens Point in the shot put in taking second place with a throw of 15.65 meters. Kurt Heilmann (Sr.-Kendall/Royall) added a third place finish in the high jump when he cleared 1.96 meters.
UW-Stevens Point finished first followed by UW-Oshkosh and UW-La Crosse.
The UW-Eau Claire women's track team, which wasn't included in the team scores, took home a first place finish of their own. The 4 x 400-meter relay team finished first in a time of 4:00.75.
Both the men and women track and field teams will be participating in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships Friday and Saturday. The event will be held in Oshkosh at the Kolf Sports Center.
