MEN'S TENNIS TAKES CARE OF ST. NORBERT

LA CROSSE - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team defeated St. Norbert College today by a score of 6-1 at Mitchell Hall in La Crosse.

The team improves to 7-2 overall this season and have won five of the last six dual meets. St. Norbert drops to 1-4 this season.

The Blugolds won five of the six singles matches on the day. Jake Znidarsich (So.-La Crosse, WI/Central) at No.2 singles won his seventh match of the season defeating his opponent 6-3, 6-3. Steve Lantz (Fr.-Rochester, MN/Century) at No.4 singles won his sixth straight match defeating his opponent 6-0, 6-2.

Erik Brandner (So.-Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) at No.3 singles also cruised to victory defeating his opponent 6-1, 6-4. Jeff Peterson (Jr.-Edina, MN) at No.5 singles only gave up one game on his way to winning 6-0, 6-1. The same could be said for Kevin Fawcett (Fr.-Madison, WI/Verona) at No.6 singles, who defeated his 6-1, 6-0.

On the doubles side, the No.2 team of Znidarsich and Aaron Nordenskjold (Jr.-Red Wing, MN) won 8-6 to improve to 5-0 this season. The No.3 team of Peterson and C.J. Rose (So.-Apple Valley, MN) were also victorious, shutting out their opponents 8-0.

Next, the Blugolds will travel to face St. Olaf College next Friday. That meet is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
