Jeff Butorac enters his first season
as assistant men’s basketball coach for the Blugolds.
Butorac will help with recruiting duties this season.
Butorac received a degree in sociology
from St. John’s University in Minnesota in the spring
of 2007. While attending St. John’s, Butorac was
a student assistant coach for the Johnnies’ basketball
team under Jim Smith, the winningest coach in Minnesota
collegiate basketball history.
Prior to the one year stint, Butorac
played tennis for two seasons with the Johnnies. Butorac
has an extended history in tennis, with his father being
a national champion and hall of famer for Gustavus Adolphus
in. His older brother, also a national champion for Gustavus
Adolphus, currently plays tennis professionally.
A native of Rochester, Minn., Butorac
played high school basketball for Rochester John Marshall.
