BEYER NAMED TO ALL-WEST REGION SECOND TEAM
STERLING, Va. – UW-Eau Claire men’s basketball player Dan Beyer (Sr.-Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) has been named to the 2008 D3hoops.com All-West Region Second Team as a forward, D3hoops.com editor and publisher Pat Coleman announced today. To be eligible for the team, a player must have been a first team all-conference selection. Sports information directors in the west region then cast ballots to determine the teams. Beyer has already received honors as the Blugolds’ Most Valuable Player for the second straight year and as a first team All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) selection. He led the Blugolds with 19 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game and a field goal percentage of .606. His 19 points per game was also tied for best in the WIAC, and his rebounding and field goal percentage was third in the WIAC. While Beyer was a senior this season, he will be back on the team next season as a fifth-year senior after earning a medical hardship during his sophomore season. Other players from around the WIAC that made the list were Whitewater’s Matt Goodwin and Platteville’s Jeff Skemp, both making the first team. D3hoops.com All-West Region Team - KM -
