GYMNASTICS COMPETES IN JOHN ZUERLEIN INVITE
MENOMONIE, Wis. – The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team competed today in the UW-Stout Invite, taking fourth out of four teams. Winning the meet was UW-Stout with 178.825 points. Taking second was Gustavus Adolphus with 174.1 points. Hamline University just edged out the Blugolds scoring 172.950 points. The Blugolds finished with 172.875 points. Sam Howard (So.-St. Paul, MN/Henry Sibley) was the top Blugold finisher tonight. Howard finished with an all-around score of 34.975. Howard’s best event was the uneven bars where she tied for third with an 8.850. UW-Stout’s Meghan Hargens was first in the all-around with a score of 36.750. Hargens was first on vault and bars, tied for third on floor, and 11th on the beam. The Blugolds’ Kerri Ritsche (Fr.-South Range, WI/Superior) finished ninth and Anna Sutherland (Jr.-Arden Hills, MN/Roseville) finished 10th in the all-around competition. Taking first in the vault and bars was Hargens. She had a 9.275 on vault and a 9.350 on bars. UW-Stout’s Naomi DeLara was first in the beam with a 9.5. Hamline’s Brynn Stenslie was first in the floor with a 9.425. Next up for the Blugolds is a meet with Gustavus Adolphis next Thursday. The meet is in St. Peter and starts at 7 p.m. Results -SB-
