GYMNASTICS ANNOUNCES TEAM AWARD WINNERS

EAU CLAIRE – UW-Eau Claire head gymnastics coach Jean DeLisle recently announced the team award winners for the 2006-07 season.

The Most Valuable Performer Award was presented to Theresa Lynch (Jr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) and Kristi Olson (Jr.-Minnetonka, MN). Lynch qualified for the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) National Championships in both the balance beam and the uneven bars where she earned All-American honors with a 10th-place finish. Olson also qualified for the NCGA Championships in the all-around where she finished 18th overall. Lynch and Olson were both named team captains for the 2007-08 season.

Katie Kooiker (Fr.-Grantsburg) earned Most Improved honors and Andi Rude (Sr.-Onalaska) received the Most Spirited Award.
