GYMNASTS TAKE SECOND AT NCGA REGIONALS
MENOMONIE - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics will be coming home to host the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association National Championships after taking second in the NCGA West Regionals.
The Blugolds had the second-highest team score in school history with a final score of 179.175. Eau Claire also set a team record in the uneven bars when they eclipsed the previous high of 42.950 with a score of 44.350.
Lynn Morris (Fr.-Monticell, IN/Twin Lakes) was a big contributor in the uneven bars record when she tied her own individual record in the event with a score of 9.275. Morris's score was good enough for third overall.
Alison Eagles (So.-Shoreview, MN/Mounds View) took second in the vault competition when she had the second highest result in school history with a score of 9.375.
Kristina Reitzel (Jr.-Oakdale, MN/Hill-Murray) took third overall in the regionals with her score of 35.650.
Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival UW-La Crosse took first place with Gustavus Adolphus taking third.
The National Championships will be held in the McPhee Phy. Ed. Center March 28-29. Team competition will be held Friday with individual competition being held Saturday.
