GYMNASTICS PLACE THIRD AT JOHN ZUERLEIN INVITATIONAL
MENOMONIE - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team posted a third place finish out of six teams with a score of 177.425 here tonight at the John Zuerlein Invitational in Menomonie.
Gustavus Adolphus won the event with a score of 179.275 while Winona State finished second with a 177.725.
Eau Claire set a new school record for highest team score in the uneven bars competition with a 43.175, breaking the mark of 42.95 set last month. Lynn Morris (Fr-Monticell, IN/Twin Lakes) led the record setting performance with a third place finish in the bars, posting a score of 8.975.
Kelly Settle (Jr-Bemidji, MN) had a great performance as she finished fourth overall in the balance beam competition with a 9.300.
Eau Claire will be in action in Menomonie again next week for the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Regionals.
