GYMNASTS TAKE FOURTH AT JEFFERSON INVITATIONAL
WINONA, MN - The UW-Eau Claire gymansts placed fourth among the four teams competing in today's Jefferson Classic Invitational held here at Winona State University.
The Blugolds were led by the efforts of Lynn Morris (Fr./Monticell, IN, Twin Lakes) who set an Eau Claire gymnastics record with a score of 9.275 which crushed the previous record also held by Morris of 9.075. Morris also placed second in the vault with a score of 9.150.
Jessica Pink (Sr./Monticello, MN) also had a strong night as she scored a career-best 9.425 in the floor exercise to tie for second in the event. Pink also secured a second place finish in the vault with a score of 9.150.
The seventh ranked Gustavus Adolphus team took home first place with a score of 176.350 followed by Winona State and fourth ranked UW-La Crosse.
Eau Claire will travel to La Crosse February 7 to compete in the Gershon Invitational. Teams that will be participating include Whitewater, River Falls, Oshkosh, Stout, and La Crosse. The invite is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
