GYMNASTS TAKE DOWN WHITEWATER AND OSHKOSH

WHITEWATER - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team defeated UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh here tonight in the Williams Center.

The Blugolds were led by the all-around effort of Alison Eagles (So.-Shoreview, MN/Mounds View). Eagles took first in the vault with a score of 8.975 and placed in all events with a combined score of 34.600.

Ashley Nelson (Jr.-Darwin, MN/Litchfield) and Kristina Reitzel (Jr.-Oakdale, MN/Hill-Murray) added second place finishes in the vault and balance beam, respectively. Lara Harris (Sr.-Franksville/Racine Case) took third in the uneven bars.

The final scores were 171.475 for Eau Claire followed by 170.425 for Oshkosh and 167.125 for Whitewater.

The Blugolds will be coming home to compete in their own UWEC Invitational to be held in the McPhee Phy. Ed. Center Saturday, January 25.
