Jyl Kelley joined the Department of Art & Design faculty in 2008. She received a BFA in Photographic Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY in 1986, and an MFA in photography from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM in 2006. Before joining the College of Art and Design faculty at UWEC, Kelley was as Visiting Lecturer of photography at Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA. Kelley has also taught Photography courses and workshops at the University of New Mexico, Bloomsburg University, the University of California Santa Cruz, and the School of the Museum of Fine Art in Boston, MA.
Kelley practices imitative magic, illusion, and science. She is a photographer and intermedia artist whose work incorporates video, digital technology, performance and installation art. Her exhibition record includes shows in the United States, China, New Zealand, South Korea, Turkey and Europe, with numerous exhibitions and performances.
