The photography area provides students with the opportunity to develop fluency in the medium, critical thinking, innovative visual problem solving, and personal visions as artists. Our curriculum offers technical and aesthetic foundations in photography and stresses the theoretical concerns of contemporary art practice in photography through an exploration of a variety of media, including darkroom, digital, video, as well as the history of photography. Independent study, internships, and teaching apprenticeships are also possible.
The facility includes a lighting studio with strobes and continuous lights, computer labs, archival inkjet printers (up to 24" wide), and darkrooms for Black and White and alternative processes. The photography area also has cameras and lighting equipment for check out.
