I work with undeclared students and I can also assist students who are thinking about changing majors or have other advising related questions and concerns.
I was born in Germany but consider myself as having "grown up' in Minnesota. Having lived in Eau Claire since 1997, I consider it home. I attended UW-Eau Claire for undergrad, so I really am a Blugold. My educational background is in Sociology and Leadership in Higher Education. Before becoming an Academic Adviser I worked for UW-Eau Claire in Housing and Residence Life for nearly a decade, so I have lots of experience with what this university has to offer.
I am the mom of two young children so my interests revolve around their interests, currently Star Wars and princesses. I also love being outdoors and enjoying the warm months that Wisconsin has to offer. I love to bike and walk and spend time with family and friends.
Were you undeclared?
No, but I should have been! I am the oldest child so my parents and I learned the ropes together and I didn't know what the benefits of being undeclared could be. I did change my major during my sophomore year.
When I was younger we took a family vacation to the Grand Canyon and it was amazingly beautiful. When my kids get older I would love to go back with my own family and experience the Grand Canyon through their eyes, and perhaps even brave one of the donkey rides into the Canyon that I was too chicken to do the first time there.
