Nontraditional Student Coordinator
I am the adviser to nontraditional students at UWEC, acting as an advocate, resource person, and mostly the “go –to” person for students who don’t now where else to turn with their questions. I also provide workshops and programming for nontraditional students and their families.
I was born and raised in a small community south of Eau Claire. I completed my associates degree from UW-Barron County in Rice Lake, Wisconsin in 1977. I then worked until I was married and we began our family. After 14 years, I returned to UW-Eau Claire and over the next seven years worked part-time at completing my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies while working fulltime at UWEC. After graduation, I was immediately accepted into the Guidance and Counseling graduate program at UW-Stout in Menomonie, graduating three years later with my master’s degree. I have been employed at UWEC in various roles since 1990. I currently live near Mondovi with my husband, Michael, (who also works at UW-Eau Claire), our youngest son, David, and our spoiled Springer Spaniel, “Lady”. My husband and I have three older daughters, Laura --a family practice physician; Sarah --a registered nurse living in Minnesota with her three children; and Heidi --who lives and works in Eau Claire.
