Activities/Orgs: Hmong Student Association, Student Support Services, Campus Ambassadors, Mentor/Mentee Program w/ Department of Public Instruction, YMCA, and the Boys and Girls Club.

What's on your Ipod right now: It is currently playing some jammin' tunes from Gavin Degraw, Jack Johnson, John Legend, Jason Mraz, One Republic, Switchfoot, Coldplay, and the list goes on....

Favorite place to study on campus: The general access 24 hour computer lab in the Old Library. I can sit in my own little cubicle and feel as though I am the only one in the whole room. It can be a second home as we are allowed to eat, drink and even sleep sometimes in the lab. This way we never have to worry about finishing that "last minute" paper at midnight!

One thing students MUST experience as a Blugold: Take advantage of all the events held on campus. One of my favorite events is the International Folk Fair held each fall. My friends and I are able to learn about different cultures, listen to music from different countries and try delicious foods from all around the world!

Best thing to eat on campus: The spinach chicken wraps— yum!! They are simple, but amazingly delicious. You have to try one!

Have you had any celebrity encounters: None as of today, but who knows about tomorrow!?!

Best class/professor so far: It is hard to narrow it down, but some of my absolute favorites are from the Communication and Journalism department. The professors are always willing to help students and you can tell they really care. Their enthusiasm about teaching really helps students learn and understand course concepts.

How to find the right fit when picking a college: Campus visits are definitely a must. Printed and web information can give you a good insight to the university; but it is a whole new experience when you actually step foot on campus to see what the environment is like. Taking a campus visit is like trying the food samples at grocery stores. If you try it and like it, you are more willing to purchase it. Of course choosing a college is a little more complex than tasting food; therefore, you should plan ahead and schedule a campus visit early!

Best advice for getting the most out of college:  Creating a balance is the key to success in college!

Best memory/experience in college so far:  Definitely when we had "random hang out nights" in the basement of Governor's Hall. We would have groups of 10 or more of us that would crowd the TV room to watch movies on the big screen or have food parties and potlucks. There were many nights where we would all fall asleep on the comfy couches in the basement and not get up until morning! Spending that time with close friends definitely helped me transition into college life.

Any last thoughts: If possible, I would go back to the first days of my freshman year in college and live the experiences all over again, as these were some of the best times in my life!  I look forward to sharing my experiences with any and all prospective students so they can be as excited about college as I was.
