Minor: Public Communications
Year in School: Super Senior!
Hometown: Sun Prairie, WI
Why did you pick UWEC? It just felt like home to me! I could see myself here, growing as a person, and loving every minute of it- which I have!
What activities/organizations are you involved in? Blugold Marching Band, Housing and Residence Life, Athletic Band, Psi Chi, Future Student Affairs Professional Program.
Where will you live in the fall? Oak Ridge Hall - I have lived in the Res Halls for the last four years, and I LOVE IT!! There is always someone around to hang out with- no matter what time!
Where do you work during school? I am an RA in Oak Ridge Hall! I have also worked at Higherground and the Food Court.
Best class so far: Art 105. It was such a nice break in the day being able to just sit down and paint, or draw, or sculpt. I had not done much art before this class, and I found it to be very relaxing and a stress reliever!
Best professor: Dr. David Jewett- Psychology Dept. He will hold you accountable for what you need to know, you will never forget what you learn in the class, and he has a sense of humor that makes class so much fun.
Best thing about being a student at UWEC: I feel like there is such an incredible connection between all the students and even with the faculty/staff that you might not get at every campus, and that is one of the best things about being a Blugold!
Best reason to stay up until 2a.m.: Movie Marathon and Jeff and Jim’s pizza night with friends crammed into a dorm room!!
Best advice for getting the most out of college: Take chances, be yourself, and don’t be afraid to stand out!
Best Blugold tradition/event: I am such a huge fan of CUBEfest! It’s at the beginning of the year and it’s a way for everyone living on campus to get to know new people- there is music, food, events, dancing, activities, tie-dying- everything! It’s just so much fun and is a great way to kick off the school year.
Best memory/experience in college so far: Even though I have not studied abroad, I have traveled abroad with the Blugold Marching Band, and that has been absolutely incredible! I have made some of the best friends in the band, and being able to travel with them is pretty awesome.
Why you want to come visit campus: It’s the “real” Eau Claire, not Eau Claire on paper.
