| Freshman Honor | Top 5% of class and 28 ACT / 1260 SAT | $1,000, nonrenewable; the Diversity Scholar and National Merit Scholarship supersede this award (40-50 available) |
| National Merit | Up to five National Merit finalists who specify to the National Merit Corp. that UW-Eau Claire is their first choice; visit the National Merit Scholarship Corporation web site for more information. | Five students will be awarded up to $5,000, renewable each year for a total of four years with a 3.0 GPA. National Merit Finalists who are not selected for the up to $5,000 UW-Eau Claire National Merit Scholarship are guaranteed at least a $2,000 nonrenewable scholarship if they choose UW-Eau Claire as their first choice.
