Freshman Scholarship Application (.pdf file)  If you have trouble accessing this application, e-mail admissions@uwec.edu.

Application process and deadlines:
DECEMBER 1 for early awards (including the Blugold Fellowship); FEBRUARY 1 for the majority of other scholarships. Only submit one freshman merit-based scholarship application to compete for the awards listed below. If you submit the application before the December 1 deadline, that application will also be considered for scholarships with the February 1 deadline. To be eligible for scholarships that require financial need, you are strongly encouraged to submit your FAFSA at least by the March 15 priority deadline.

Scholarship availability and competitiveness:
The availability of specific scholarships changes each year. The list below includes the scholarships that were available for the 2009-2010 incoming freshman class and is meant to give you an idea of the types of scholarships available for 2010-2011. Your application will be considered for all of the available scholarships for which you are eligible.

The scholarship process is competitive and selective.  In 2009-2010, we received over 600 freshman scholarship applications to compete for about 160 scholarships.  The average award amount for 2009-2010 was approximately $1,100.

Other scholarship opportunities:
The scholarships listed below are specifically for incoming freshmen. To see other admissions scholarships, please visit our Admissions Scholarship homepage. Please keep in mind that there are also a variety of scholarships available to you once you are a currently enrolled student at UW-Eau Claire, typically through your specific department or college. To see a list of all university scholarships, visit our University Foundation Scholarship Website. Most of those scholarships listed are available to current students with at least sophomore standing.
