The faculty of the department of philosophy and religious studies
is of a high caliber. It includes professors who graduated from Cambridge,
Stanford, Vanderbilt, Syracuse, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern and
Marquette Universities.
Advanced courses in the department are small and personable with
between 20 and 25 students, providing many opportunities for one-on-one
learning.
Introductory-level and advanced students have the opportunity to
publish articles in the department's journal, Prism.
Students can gain credit(s) in apprenticeship courses within the
department, the most popular being the teaching apprenticeship courses.
UW-Eau Claire classes, unlike those at many other public universities,
are not taught by teaching assistants. Students work alongside interesting
professors who inspire learning.
The department has a Religious Studies Club and a chapter of the
Religious Studies Honors Society — Theta Alpha Kappa.
