Academic Programs

Criminal Justice

  • Criminal justice career information sessions and seminars held during the school year feature presentations by professionals from the field on career opportunities and employment trends.
  • The Criminal Justice Association, an on-campus student organization, provides numerous activities for student involvement.
  • Students gain valuable experience through internships in a variety of settings including police or sheriff departments, social service agencies, group homes, correctional facilities, prosecution offices and the courts. Students may choose from more than a dozen internship sites and earn up to six credits in the major.
  • With a 1:11 computer to student ratio (surpasses most national benchmarks), UW-Eau Claire students have easy access to computer laboratories for class assignments, research projects and e-mail.
  • Small classes, individual attention.
  • Unlike many other public universities, classes are not taught by teaching assistants. Students work alongside dedicated professors who inspire learning.
