Where will you live in the fall: Towers South
Any comment on the residence halls experience: Living on campus is probably one of the best aspects of college you’ll ever experience! From Hall Council to other activities, there’s ALWAYS something to do on campus, and the friends you meet here are the ones that will last a lifetime – trust me!
What activities/organizations are you involved in: Student Senate, Campus Ambassadors, Housing and Residence Life, New Student Orientation as an Orientation Assistant, and study abroad in Australia in the spring of 2010.
If you work during school, where: I work for Housing and Residence life as a Resident Assistant (RA), and I also save lives down at Biolife Plasma Services :)
Best place to eat in Eau Claire: Texas Roadhouse – the sweet rolls with cinnamon butter were the greatest things ever created! Plus, you get to eat peanuts and throw the shells on the floor, how cool is that!?!
Favorite thing to do when you get free time: Hanging out with friends, being active, and of course obsessively checking my Facebook :) haha...
Favorite activity/place off-campus: The Acoustic Café – great coffee, music, and people!
Favorite activity/place on-campus: Sitting outside in the Campus Mall on a beautiful, sunny day listening to local talent perform. Doesn’t get much better than that!
Best class so far: Definitely American Sign Language (I, II, and III), because I use it constantly, whether to friends who have also taken the course, or even hearing impaired people that come into my work sometimes.
Best professor: Geoffrey Peterson, because he’s absolutely hilarious, and is very knowledgeable in the Political Science department.
Best thing about being a student at UWEC: Definitely being a member of the UWEC family, and constantly being surrounded by both a beautiful campus and bright, dedicated people.
Best reason to stay up until 2a.m.: Hanging out with friends (I try to not work on homework past midnight, because my brain is usually unable to function :)
Why did you pick UWEC: The campus is close enough to home, but far enough for freedom. Also, after taking my own campus tour, I fell in love with the campus beauty, the great money saving opportunities (textbook rental program, etc.), and the friendliness of those around me.
Best advice for getting the most out of college: Live everyday to the fullest, get in the habit of studying/doing homework throughout the day (rather than late at night), go to class, join a few student organizations right away to gain experience (trust me, it will come in handy down the road), and ALWAYS be yourself!
Any last thoughts: College is a time for growth, dedication, and excitement. These will be the best years of your lives – don’t rush them!
