Where will you live in the fall: In a house off campus with two other roommates.
Any comment on the residence halls experience: The residence halls are a great place to meet new people. I have made a lot of great friends through the dorms and I even live off campus now with two people I met in the dorms.
What activities/organizations are you involved in: Student Accounting Society, Beta Alpha Psi (Accounting/Finance Honor Society), varsity wrestling team, intramural sports and Campus Ambassadors.
Best place to study: If you really need to get some stuff done, the library is probably the best spot. Whether you are looking for a friendly social atmosphere or if you need to get right down to business, the library has both places to offer!
Best thing/place to eat on campus: It’s hard to beat the all you can eat cafeteria, not to mention the soft serve ice cream!
Best place to eat in Eau Claire: Olive Garden and Texas Roadhouse are always an excellent choice. Buffalo Wild Wings is also a fun place to kick back and watch sports on the big screen TV’s.
Favorite thing to do when you get free time: In my freetime I love playing sports, especially the intramural sports offered here on campus. I enjoy playing football, softball, basketball, and volleyball.
Favorite activity/place off-campus: It’s fun going to Carson Park for football games and for Eau Claire Express baseball games in the summer. I also enjoy going golfing at a bunch of the local golf courses.
Best professor so far: The best professor I have had was Dr. Selin who I had for Accounting 301. He went out of his way to help us learn, and he truly wanted each person to succeed.
Best thing about being a student at UWEC: Getting to know your professors on a personal basis. The professors do a great job of preparing you for your future career.
Why did you pick UWEC: It was the right size college for me. I was looking for small class sizes, contact with my teachers, and I also had the opportunity to participate in the Division III sport of wrestling.
Best advice for getting the most out of college: College is a really fun time but also very serious, since you will be preparing yourself for your future career. You will get out of it what you put into it. Take school seriously, but don’t be afraid to live in the moment and have some fun!
Best memory/experience in college so far: Being on the UWEC wrestling team. I met a lot of new friends and I learned how to budget my time between school and wrestling. It was always fun joking around with the guys and being able to compete at a higher level of athletics.
Any last thoughts: Eau Claire is a great, safe town with a lot to offer. Whether you are into biking, fishing, movies, sports, shopping, or music there is something for you. Not to mention a ton of restaurants to meet anyone’s hunger needs!
