Hometown:  Green Bay, WI
Major: Psychology
Minor:  Kinesiology

Activities/orgs: Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field -going on year 4! Campus Crusade for Christ, Athletes in Action, Newman Student Association. Last year I also was published in the Journal of Undergraduate Kinesiology Research!

What was living in the residence halls like? I was assigned a random roommate my first year at UWEC and it ended up absolutely great. I’ve lived with her and other girls from my hall for three years - two years on campus, one year off and it's been an amazing experience.

Favorite study spot: Second floor of the library - lots of comfy chairs and quiet. If it’s nice outside - on the campus lawn, only if you aren't easily distracted!

Best eats on campus: Can't beat the chicken wraps from Ultimate Baja, but you can't go wrong with a tuna sub from Blimpies either!

Best restaurant in Eau Claire: This is tough because I LOVE all kinds of cuisine from all around town. In the Italian mood - Draganetti’s or Mona Lisa’s; taste of Ireland - Dooley’s Pub; best Mexican - El Patio (right near campus!).

Best class so far:  Kinesiology 474: Research Methods. Myself and four other group members conducted a research study and produced a manuscript that ended up being published at the end of the semester. It made me feel like everything I was working toward was clicking into place.

Best professor: Dr. April Bleske-Rechek is the best!! I’ve had her for numerous psychology courses and she is also my advisor. She is extremely dedicated to her work and inspires her students to do the same. She is one of the reasons why I decided to become a psychology major.

Best thing about being a student at UWEC: Everyone is extremely friendly and willing to reach out and meet others. You won't find that “high school clique” feeling here.

Best advice for getting the most out of college:  Get involved in new things that stretch your comfort zone. You may have hidden qualities that never get the chance to surface until you take a risk. You might just surprise yourself.

Why did you pick UWEC? I’m a home girl, so for me, the reason I came to Eau Claire is because it just fit the best. To me, it’s very secure and safe, almost like a second home.

Best memory/experience in college so far: Being a part of the women’s Track and Cross Country teams. It has not only made me grow physically but also mentally; it has prepared me for life beyond college.

Excellence. Our Measure. Our Motto. Our Goal.
