What was your residence hall experience like on campus?
Incredible! It is nearly impossible not to make new friends. There are so many people around all the time and the residence halls have SO many fun events!
What activities/organizations are you involved in?
Blugold Marching Band, Campus Ambassadors, Hobnailers Outdoor Adventure Club, Geology Club, Sigma Gamma Epsilon (Geology Honors Society), Admissions Office Intern, intramurals, and a ton of geology trips!
What's your favorite Blugold tradition?
The Viennese Ball! Most college students do not get the chance to experience the traditions of Vienna, Austria, but at Eau Claire we make it a HUGE event! Polka, fancy dresses, and amazing desserts! What isn’t to like!?!
What's the best class you've had so far?
Geology 470 (Field Camp I). I spent three weeks in New Mexico doing field mapping and applying all the geologic knowledge that I had gained during my geologic career. It was complete immersion into the geology mind set. It was also a great opportunity to spend three weeks with some amazing people and great professors!
Where’s your favorite local hotspot?
Infinitea in downtown Eau Claire. I love tea! It’s a great place to relax with friends over a pot of tea and a board game. It’s also a great place to study if you’re feeling ambitious.
Why did you choose UWEC?
I chose UW–Eau Claire because as soon as I stepped on campus, I felt at home. Everyone was super friendly and the campus was so beautiful. Eau Claire is also located in a perfect area that allows me to be outside to hike, camp, bike, etc.
I get to show off the university to other students or prospective students. I want others to love Eau Claire as much as I do!
