What activities/organizations are you involved in?
I'm currently the Secretary of Eau Claire's Student Accounting Society (SAS). SAS is a great way for accounting students to learn more about the profession, as well as network with current accounting professionals. We have a lot of fun at our social events throughout the year as well. I also serve on the College of Business Student Advisory Council with leaders from the other student-run organizations in the College of Business.
What are your favorite things to do when you get free time?
I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee, working out in McPhee, and jogging through Carson Park.
What's the best class you've had so far?
My favorite class was Philosophy 101 with Dr. McAleer. He made philosophy fun and showed us how it relates to our everyday lives. I even found myself talking about things we learned in class with my friends! Philosophy is one of the classes outside of my major that helped me think about things in new ways.
What's your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is the Ojibwe Ballroom; the biggest and most exciting events on campus are held there throughout the year. Everyone has a special memory from his or her favorite event, whether it’s Career Conference in the fall or the Viennese Ball in the spring, which is the largest Viennese Ball outside of Vienna itself!
Where's the best place to eat in Eau Claire?
The Nucleus has the best breakfast in town. There's a reason it's always packed weekend mornings: the food is worth the wait!
What's your favorite Blugold tradition?
I love the Career Conferences that take place every semester. It is an incredible opportunity for students from all majors to network with future employers. The event brings in so many great companies that are eager to hire Blugolds!
Why did you choose UWEC?
I picked UWEC because it has earned the title of "The Harvard of the Chippewa Valley," boasting the most beautiful campus in the state and providing the academics and networking opportunities to prepare me for a successful career in accounting and beyond.
