What was your residence hall experience like on campus?
It's been amazing! Residence halls are a great place to make new friends and get involve in different organizations on campus. My first year I made a lot of friends that I am still close with. What could be better than having all your close friends living in the same building as you?
What activities/organizations are you involved in?
Blugold Marching Band, Governors Hall Council, Future Student Affairs Professional Program, and Intramurals!
When thinking about our campus, what makes it feel like home?
What makes me feel most at home would be the campus mall. I love going to sit outside beneath a tree while reading a book or chatting with a friend. In the spring and fall the campus mall is always busy with students and faculty taking advantage of the beautiful scenery. The campus mall is a fantastic place to relax and get some fresh air if you need a break!
What's the best class you've had so far?
My favorite class so far would be Conservation of the Environment. It was such an engaging class with intelligent group discussion, and a professor who pushed each student to learn and critically analyze materials at a higher level. Before I took this course, I thought I knew a lot about sustainability and where our food comes from...I was wrong! There was so much that I did not know concerning different conservation issues and now I am a more knowledgeable individual and consumer.
Why did you choose UWEC?
I chose UWEC because every other university I toured just didn't seem to fit. When I toured Eau Claire I fell in love with not only the campus, but the overall atmosphere of the university. Everyone I talked to was so welcoming and willing to help me out in any way they could.
