|Hometown: Onalaska, WI
Major: Organizational Communication
What activities/organizations are you involved in?
I’ve been a Resident Assistant in Towers North for 3 years. I also had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Winchester, England, which led me to become a peer advisor for the Center of International Education after I returned to UWEC.
What's your residence life experience been like?
I loved my experience in the residence halls! Living with a random roommate, having a great RA, and getting to know other students on my floor made freshman year so much fun. My advice for making the most of your ‘res hall’ experience: don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and talk to as many people as you can! You never know when you might be meeting lifelong friends; I know I did!
Where's the best place place to eat on campus?
Without a doubt, Einstein Bros Bagels! I’ve tried every bagel on the menu. No shame.
Who's the best professor you've had?
Jeff Goodman, my Psychology professor! He took the time to get to know each student and helped me be successful in and out of the classroom!
What's been your best experience in college so far?
I had an incredible experience on the Civil Rights Pilgrimage in the Spring of 2014. We went to 9 cities in 10 days, covering all the major cities and landmarks of the Civil Rights Pilgrimage. It was amazing to learn not just about the history, but also experience the history around us. It was life-changing to say the least!
Why did you choose UWEC?
When I took my first tour of campus, I just knew that UWEC was the place for me. I pictured myself walking up and down the hill and lounging on Towers Field. I loved all the opportunities for Study Abroad and traveling that were so accessible and affordable. The city of Eau Claire is also wonderful; there’s a small-town vibe that blends so well with our vibrant community of students. We’re also only about an hour drive from the Twin Cities! UWEC made me feel at home right from the beginning.
