What was your residence hall experience like on campus?
I lived in Bridgman and loved it! The building was cozy, and it felt like home. Participating in the All Hall Fall Ball and the Bridgman Olympics were some of the best memories I had with my hall mates. The first year on campus is essential to making friends, and getting to know the campus even better!
What activities/organizations are you involved in?
I'm involved in the Honors Living Learning Community (LLC), wing representative for Bridgman Hall, Student Academic Apprentice for Psychology, Psychology Club, Student Ministry of Magic, the Honors Program, and the National Society for Collegiate Scholars. I enjoy going to group exercise like Zumba or "Butts and Guts." I also had the awesome opportunity to go to Guatemala with an organization called VIDA (Volunteers for Intercultural Definitive Adventures) as a medical volunteer! I've made some amazing friends through my involvement!
What's your favorite Blugold tradition?
THEE best tradition is CUBEfest (Creating the Ultimate Blugold Experience). For my first CUBEfest there was a night-time outdoor showing of the Hunger Games, the famous Tie-Dye affair, free zip-lining, rock climbing and tons of yummy food! This is an amazing opportunity to meet new friends and get familiar with campus. I can't wait to go next year!
What's the best class you've had so far?
My favorite class so far has been Dr. Benning's, The Emerging Self. It's an honors colloquia course, in which we discuss our emerging selves. He reminds us to spend time in our lives doing the things that make us happy. It is professors like Dr. Benning that give Eau Claire such a strong reputation for education.
Where’s your favorite local hotspot?
I really enjoy the Children's Museum, Just Local Foods, and the Oakwood Mall. Eau Claire has tons of food and shopping options, which is important because that's what my friends and I like to do on the weekend!
