Purpose of the Organization
Provides services to elderly (age 60 and older) or disabled individuals, especially those who do not qualify for other services, or have needs greater than can be met by their existing resources. Volunteers provide transportation to medical appointments and for grocery shopping, provide companionship, and assist with recreational activities.
Volunteer Opportunities Available
Volunteers are needed for individual services and occasional group activities in Eau Claire County and occasional group activities in Chippewa County. Volunteers are matched with individuals located conveniently near them.
> Transportation Volunteer — Drive individuals to and from medical appointments or
for grocery shopping.
> Food Pantry Volunteer — Pick up food from St. Francis Food Pantry and deliver to
> Joy Day Volunteer — Assist at a social gathering on selected Thursdays from
September through May, either in the Rotunda at Sacred Heart Hospital or in
Chippewa Falls or Bloomer.
> Companionship Volunteer — Visit an isolated person living in his or her own home
or in a health care facility.
> Respite Volunteer — Stay and visit with a person in his or her home while the
primary family caregiver has a needed break.
