Purpose of the Organization
Municipal organization offering recreational opportunities and organized programs to adults and youth in the city of Eau Claire. Recreation division includes youth athletics and Par-Te-Rec, a program that serves physically and cognitively challenged adults.
Volunteer Opportunities Available
Volunteer Coaches:
> Youth Hockey Leagues — October–February. Practices scheduled on weekday evenings. Games played on Saturdays, Sundays and Monday–Friday evenings. Ages 6–12, various age divisions.
> Junior Basketball League — November–March, various season lengths. Practices one night per week. Games played on Saturdays. Grades 1, 2, 3–4, and 5–6.
Par-Te-Rec Volunteers:
> Weekly activities include bingo, cards, dancing, games and special events. Volunteers may work one-on-one with a client, set up games, serve refreshments, assist with crafts or supervise games.
> Par-Te-Rec meets Wednesdays 6–8 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Community Center, 915 Menomonie Street.
